Meet the Supplier:
Santorini Airport: Please enter the arrivals hall. The supplier's representative will be waiting for you inside the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name on it. He/she will take you to the shuttle bus with destination the car rental office. You will pick up your car from there. Santorini Port: By the time you arrive you have to walk to the left for approximately 3 minutes, towards the exit of the port. The supplier's representative will be waiting for you outside the "BLUE STAR FERRIES" office holding a sign with your name on it. He/she will take you to the shuttle bus with destination the car rental office. You will pick up your car from there. Hotels in Santorini: The supplier's representative will show up on time at the reception desk of your hotel and ask for your name. He/she will take you to the shuttle bus with destination the car rental office. From there you will pick up your car. Make sure you have mentioned your hotel's name.
Terms & Conditions Renter’s qualification
A. To rent a car from Sunbird you have to:
1) Be over 23* years of age so that you can be qualified for all types of cars we own, and have a valid driving license issued at least three years ago
2) Have a valid Greek, European (for E.U. countries) or international (for countries that do not belong in the E.U.) driving license.
3) Have a personal credit card.
A. When collecting the vehicle all renters need to have:
1) A valid driving license.
2) A personal credit card. Third party credit cards are not accepted unless there is written validated authorization.
3) If the renter does not hold a credit card, he will not be able to collect the car.
B. The car will be provided with a full tank of fuel. The consumer must return the car with the same amount of fuel; otherwise a charge of fuel will be paιd by the renter. In addition, if the car is not provided with a full tank of fuel, the renter must return it at the same level as he/she collected it or more, otherwise a charge of fuel will be paid by the renter.
C. When collecting the vehicle, the renter will be given a Rental Agreement which he has to check and sign. The Rental Agreement will show all services and insurances provided, as well as any extra services/insurances that the renter might request with their relevant charges.
D. It is very important that the renter checks and reports any existing damage on the vehicle in order to avoid any charges that a previous renter may have caused. The renter has to sign, upon the deliverance, a condition form for any damage to the vehicle.
All Sunbird vehicles are insured:
a) Against liability to third parties (excluding driver) for death and injury up to 1.000.000 euro per victim.
b) Material damages to third parties (excluding the Sunbird vehicle) up to 1.000.000 euro.
If the Sunbird vehicle is damaged or stolen the renter will be liable, up to the total car’s commercial value at the time of accident or theft.
Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.)
The renter can limit his responsibility for his legal share in any damage of the vehicle to 500,00 euro by paying the amount of 10,00 euro per day for all types of vehicles provided that traffic laws were not contravened (i.e. violation of red light or STOP sign, illegal overtaking, driving under the influence of alcohol etc.)
Collection / Deliverance:
Free of charge at Sunbird’s Headquarters in Imerovigli village, Santorini Airport, Santorini Port, or any hotel in Santorini.
One day. After the 25th rental hour, an additional day will be charged.
Extra charge for each additional driver: 5,00 euro per day
Loss or damage of key:
In case of loss or damage of the car keys during the rental, the driver is liable for the total repair cost.
Baby / child seat, GPS and action cameras are on request and available only after reservation for an extra fee. (10,00 euro per day for the GPS & the action camera, and 8,00 euro per day for the baby / child seat).
In case the renter fails to collect the vehicle on the rental start date and time, without any written or telephone conversation, Sunbird will cancel the reservation, and the renter is liable to pay in full the cost of the reservation.
In case the renter returns the vehicle and its cabin has stains which require a special cleaning procedure (i.e. animal hair, sand etc. on car seats, car floor or port baggage etc.), he / she will have to pay the amount of 80,00 euro.
Ferrying the car:
It is forbidden without an advanced written authorization from Sunbird to ferry the car between the Greek islands. In any case, the renter has to return the car to the pick-up station, which is stated at the reservation agreement; otherwise all transportation costs will be charged to the renter. In case of any accident or mechanical problem, the car transportation back to the Sunbird‘s Headquarters (Imerovigli Santorini Cyclades Greece 84700) is at renter’s responsibility.
If the renter wants to keep the vehicle longer than the contracted period, he/she will have to contact with Sunbird station in order to extend his Rental Agreement.
Sunbird accepts all types of credit cards, debit cards, or prepaid cards.
The above mentioned rates do not include V.A.T.
All traffic fines resulting from violation of the Greek traffic law are for renter’s account.
